Frequently asked questions
Do you supply liquid cold plates for traction / rail IGBT modules?
Yes. ToneCooling Australia supplies a large-format aluminium liquid cold plate (model T-HS202313) rated to 10kW for traction and rail IGBT power module cooling, vacuum brazed.
Why is this plate so much larger than the standard IGBT cold plate?
At 10kW, the plate spreads heat across a much larger footprint (610 x 300mm) to keep pressure drop and surface temperature manageable at 20 LPM — a single-module footprint would be undersized for this heat load.
What coolant and flow rate does it use?
Rated performance is tested with pure water at 38°C inlet, 20 LPM flow rate at approximately 50 kPa pressure drop, holding surface temperature at or below 56°C.
Can the design be customised?
Yes. Port locations, mounting pattern, dimensions and surface finish are customised from your drawings, with CFD validating the change before tooling.
What is the Quantity and lead time?
Prototype orders start from 1 piece with a 4–6 week prototype lead time from approved drawing and purchase order; production lead time is confirmed per volume.
Where is this cold plate manufactured?
Manufacturing is performed at the ToneCooling facility in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. ToneCooling Australia Pty Ltd (Carlton, VIC) is the AU RFQ and engineering-coordination entity and does not manufacture.
