Who this programme is for

Which Australian manufacturers need a battery cold plate supplier?

Each one needs heat taken out of a sealed enclosure on hot sites. The cold plate is different for each, but the way we work with you is the same.

What we supply

What can one battery cold plate supplier cover?

Choose the joining process to match the heat source, the material and the cost target. We confirm the process on the controlled drawing before tooling.

How the programme runs

How does battery cold plate supply move from drawing to production?

If you are moving from hand-built units to a production line, the cold plate has to scale with you. Each stage ends with an output you can approve.

DFM & CFD review

We check channel layout, pressure drop and manufacturability against your cell or module footprint and coolant.

Output: CFD report + DFM notes

Prototype

We build to the approved drawing so you can test the plate in your own enclosure.

From 1 piece · typically 6–8 weeks

Pilot validation

Helium leak, proof pressure and hydraulic ΔP testing at a defined duty, with records tied to the drawing revision.

Batch validation

Production supply

Production runs with lot traceability. Schedules follow your build plan.

Built for Australian conditions

How are battery cold plates designed for Australian sites?

Batteries and power systems in Australia run in sealed outdoor cabinets, in high ambient heat and far from service crews. We start every cold plate design from those conditions.

  • High-ambient design inputs. We size coolant approach temperature and flow for summer peaks, not for lab conditions. Remote & mining sites
  • Glycol coolants. Plates are specified and tested for the water–glycol mix you actually use.
  • Standards context. We hand over documentation for your AS/NZS 5139 and AS/NZS 4777.2 work. Standards reference
  • Local commercial handling. AUD quotes, ChAFTA Certificate of Origin coordination and a Carlton VIC contact.

Where the work is done

Manufacturing: design, CFD, production and testing are done at our own facility in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. It runs ISO 9001:2015 with an IATF 16949-aligned quality system.

Australian service: ToneCooling Australia Pty Ltd in Carlton VIC is your local contact. The team handles pre-sales engineering, RFQs, AUD quotes, documentation, customs coordination and after-sales.

Every shipment comes with country-of-origin documentation, including ChAFTA Certificate of Origin coordination.

Reference designs

Can the same supplier provide power electronics cold plates?

These are production reference designs. Use them to benchmark your requirement. Your programme is quoted against your own drawing and duty.

FAQ

Questions Australian OEM engineers ask

We build fewer than 1,000 units a year. Is that too small?

No. Custom samples are available from a single piece, and batch sizes follow your build plan. The programme is set up for manufacturers who are still scaling, and we plan tooling so it doesn’t need replacing as your volumes grow.

Can you design the cold plate if we only have a cell and module layout?

Yes. Send the cell datasheet, the module drawing, the heat load per cell and your coolant. The DFM and CFD review turns that into a channel design and a drawing for you to approve.

Who does the engineering, the Australian office or the factory?

Design, CFD, process engineering and manufacturing are done at our own facility in Huizhou, Guangdong. It runs ISO 9001:2015 with an IATF 16949-aligned quality system. The Carlton VIC team handles pre-sales engineering, RFQ coordination, documentation and after-sales.

Can one supplier cover both battery and PCS cold plates?

Yes. Battery plates are usually CAB or FSW aluminium, and IGBT/SiC plates are usually vacuum-brazed aluminium. Both processes are in-house, so one drawing package and one quality file can cover the whole cabinet.

Can you supply the whole cabinet cooling loop?

Yes. We can supply battery and PCS cold plates, manifolds and loop sub-assemblies, and the BESS liquid cooling unit. We size them as one system to one flow and pressure-drop budget, or you can buy only the parts you need.

What do we need to send for a quote?

Send drawings or a STEP file, the heat load and its distribution, the coolant type and inlet temperature, the available flow and pressure drop, the operating pressure and the expected annual volume. The RFQ input checklist lists everything.

How is pricing quoted?

We quote in AUD with tooling, prototype and production prices shown separately, so you can plan cost reductions as volumes increase.

Who makes battery cold plates for Australian battery manufacturers?

ToneCooling supplies battery cold plates to Australian battery and power system manufacturers. Design, CFD and manufacturing are done at our own manufacturing facility in Huizhou, and ToneCooling Australia Pty Ltd in Carlton VIC handles engineering support, AUD quotes, documentation and after-sales.

Send the drawing you have today

A module layout, a PCS heatsink you want to replace or a full STEP assembly all work. You’ll get a DFM response with a recommended process, the open questions and an AUD quotation.
