In-Row Liquid-to-Air CDUs

Compare four TC-CDU-A cabinet references for retrofit and equipment-room projects in Australia and New Zealand. Plan the room heat balance alongside the coolant circuit.

Selection in brief

A liquid-to-air CDU transfers coolant heat into the surrounding air stream. It can be assessed where a facility-water connection is unavailable, but the room cooling system must still remove the rejected heat. Check air intake conditions and discharge routing before selecting its liquid-side duty.

Account for the room heat before planning a retrofit

Moving heat from a server coolant loop into room air does not remove that heat from the building. Ask the HVAC designer to assess the liquid load, unit electrical heat and other room loads at the intended operating condition. Avoid counting the same heat twice when combining server and room schedules.

Show where warm discharge travels and how it reaches the room cooling return. An obstructed intake or recirculating discharge can raise the local air temperature above the room sensor reading. Request fan, acoustic and airflow data for the selected cabinet.

Agree the equipment and acceptance boundary

List the CDU or skid, connections, sensors, controls and accessories included in the offer. Allocate installation, water treatment, flushing, filling, electrical connection and commissioning to named project parties. Australian or New Zealand enquiry support does not imply local stock, on-site installation or an included service contract.

Request the controlled drawing, selected duty, component schedule and agreed factory test records. Confirm site electrical requirements and applicable conformity documentation for the offered configuration; a catalogue voltage or a pump arrangement is not proof of project compliance or redundancy.

Include these project inputs

  • Room intake-air range and HVAC capacity assessment
  • Liquid heat load and required supply / return temperatures
  • Coolant mixture, flow and external pressure budget
  • Airflow layout, acoustic requirement and service clearances
  • Electrical supply and room-cooling responsibility

ToneCooling Australia Pty Ltd coordinates Australian and New Zealand enquiries; manufacturing is in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. Include the destination postcode and required delivery date. Currency, freight, lead time and included inspection documents are confirmed in the quotation.

Engineering questions

Does avoiding facility-water pipework eliminate the need for room cooling?

No. The CDU rejects the liquid-loop heat to air. The room cooling arrangement must be capable of carrying that heat away.
